The main<br>objective of this engineering field is the study of automata<br>from an engineering perspective, thinking on the design of<br>products and manufacturing processes. Today, mechatronics<br>systems are well established in a great number of industries<br>such as automotive, aircraft, aerospace, machine tools,<br>product manufacturing, computers, electronics, semiconductor and communications, biomedical, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"883\" height=\"514\" src=\"https:\/\/plc4me.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/mechatronics-and-manafacturing-engineering2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63703\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plc4me.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/mechatronics-and-manafacturing-engineering2.png 883w, https:\/\/plc4me.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/mechatronics-and-manafacturing-engineering2-300x175.png 300w, https:\/\/plc4me.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/mechatronics-and-manafacturing-engineering2-768x447.png 768w, https:\/\/plc4me.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/mechatronics-and-manafacturing-engineering2-810x472.png 810w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 883px) 100vw, 883px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This book aims to provide information on mechatronics<br>for modern industry with an emphasis on manufacturing<br>engineering. <strong>Chapter 1<\/strong> looks at issues of innovation, design<br>and development in relation to the implementation of<br>light-scattering instrumentation. <strong>Chapter 2<\/strong> is dedicated to<br>recent developments for planar micromanipulation on<br>microconveyor platforms. <strong>Chapter 3<\/strong> presents basic active\/<br>passive joint torque control of single-axis arm designed with<br>an ultrasonic motor. <strong>Chapter 4<\/strong> covers signal processing for<br>tool condition monitoring: from wavelet analysis to sparse<br>decomposition. <strong>Chapter 5<\/strong> is dedicated to ANN modelling of<br>fractal dimension in machining. <strong>Chapter 6<\/strong> contains<br>information on soft computing techniques for predicting<br>forces and damage in drilling of polymer composites.<br><strong>Chapter 7<\/strong> covers integrating surface response methodology<br>with particle swarm optimisation for minimising burr size in drilling. Finally, <strong>Chapter 8<\/strong> is dedicated to single point<br>incremental forming of polymers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book can be used as a research tool for final undergraduate<br>engineering courses or as a topic on mechatronics at the<br>postgraduate level. It can also serve as a useful reference for<br>academics, mechatronics and manufacturing researchers,<br>mechanical, mechatronics, manufacturing, electronic and<br>computer engineers, and professionals in mechatronics and<br>related industries. The scientific interest in this book is evident<br>for many important centres of research, laboratories and<br>universities throughout the world.
